Rediscovering the Anglican Church (RTAC) is a lay training course of St Peter's Hall which comprises various modules to help us to appreciate what God has done through the Anglican Church and to rediscover her timeless treasures, gifts, and graces. They will also lead us to be more faithful to the rich disciplines of prayer, worship, mission and societal engagement that are part of our heritage and our living legacy.

Introduction and Aims of this Course: “Raising our Rule of Life”
Historical development of Daily Prayer: From the Jews to Jesus and the Early Church, the Monastic (Benedictine) movement to Cranmer.
13th Oct
The Common Prayer Life The English Reformation and Cranmer’s emphasis on listening to and praying the Scripture.
20th Oct
Our Daily Office
Nature and Shape Links to Calendar, special days, commemorations, Appreciating some of the Prayers of the church (Collects, etc)

The Daily Prayer discipline: Why we need it and challenges in modern life.

Praying the Office together
Advantages of a Communal office and role of the leader/facilitator

Praying the Office alone Solitude, Silence & Meditation Ways to meditate on Scripture Adapting the office for family devotion Closing and Summary
We will also be leading participants through the practicalities of doing the Office alone and communally.
