12 October Updates

We bid farewell to Yohan and Mary on Monday evening. They have gone back to Philippines for good. We will miss their friendship in Christ and their dedicated ministry to our Filipino community and the Zimrah Ministry.

We are in the process of improving the porch area with the wooden decking in the following ways:

• Repainting the walls

• Adding potted plants and water features

• Planting herbs in the grass areas

• Adding an air cooler

• Adding chairs and tables

These steps will both beautify and make that area usable as an overflow area of the Community Hall. To this end, we are thankful to those who have been working on it.

We are looking forward to the screening of the Bonhoeffer Movie this Saturday at 4.30 pm. Refreshments will be served after the movie for us to have further conversations. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend.

How should one react when faced with the rising tides of a dark movement that has mesmerised millions and will eventually result in the tragic World War 2 and the unthinkable Jewish holocaust? Why was large parts of the German Church bought into supporting this movement? How did some Christians, like Bonhoeffer, saw through the lies and tried to make a difference? We may think that these turns in human history will not beset us every again. We need to rethink this carefully, going by what is going on in many parts of the world. In any case, what is truth anyway? How can one truly follow Christ in our world today? This movie will make you think about these issues!
