We are delighted to welcome Revd Prem Tamang, the Dean of Nepal, as he shares with us about Nepal and from God’s Word. In 1996, the Anglican work in Nepal came under the Diocese of Singapore and became one of our seven deaneries. Since then, we have been richly blessed by this partnership in the Gospel.

The rest of today’s write-up focuses on some practical matters in our parish life.

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff and all who have covered for my absence during the recent trip to the island of Iona, off the west coast of Scotland. It was a meaningful time, and I look forward to sharing some of the insights and lessons through sermons, weekday devotions, and Cell group materials in the coming weeks.

Preparations are also underway for our Church Camp in June. Please continue to pray for Revd Victor Teo as he prepares to minister. Camp is always a precious opportunity to deepen our fellowship in the Lord, and we pray that many friendships will be strengthened.

Following the AGM, a new PCC has been elected. We warmly welcome two new members, Jessica Barron and Jason Chan. Please keep the PCC in your prayers as they continue to support me in leading and shepherding the church. In traditional church language, the PCC assists the Vicar in “temporal matters,” as distinct from “spiritual matters,” where I am supported by pastoral staff and lay leaders such as our Cell and Youth leaders. In reality, especially in a parish like ours, these areas often overlap. Many PCC members also serve in various ministry roles. In this season, the PCC will play a key role as we discern and shape our ten-year direction.

You may have noticed that the patio—the frontal area of our building facing the road—has been refreshed and looks much improved. We are currently exploring ways to better cool the space, and these enhancements will be implemented soon. The water cooler in the Community Hall is also due for replacement, as it has not been functioning well.

We are currently reviewing the Bus Shuttle Service. A detailed survey will be conducted soon to help guide our decision. In the meantime, please continue to make full use of the service and feel free to invite others to do the same.

Finally, the Alpha Course has just concluded. We are considering running another course in the second half of the year—perhaps this time in a home setting. If the Lord is moving your heart to host, do let us know. It could be a timely opportunity for friends and family to explore the Christian faith.
