The Value of Worship

"O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!"

Psalm 8:9

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a myriad of changes. The Church has not been spared, but we are glad that 50 people are now allowed to gather to worship the Lord. In keeping with these times, MPCC now holds an additional service on Saturday at 3.00 pm for our members and friends. All you need to do is to tell us you are coming and we will respond to you.

But what is the value of worship?

Even though we only meet for an hour for worship, we use the time to pray, to hear God's word, to celebrate God's presence with us in these difficult times and to draw near to our God who loves us far beyond our own understanding.

We remember that to worship God, we prostrate before him like a slave. After all, God is our Creator, protector, guide, and our dear redeemer.

Although the church service is only an hour long, we can, and ought to spend even more time preparing ourselves for worship, especially at home.

Where true worship is practiced, deep faith is developed. We all need deep faith to see us through challenging times such as now. True worship is to be able to acknowledge that God is holy and untouched by sin, and that He alone is great and without equal in heaven and on earth.

If even the angels worship Him, so must we, fragile human beings worship God with reverence, awe and praise.

Let us not neglect worship of God daily and in our gathering too. May God bless us with His peace, love and protection.
