We give thanks

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17

We will be flying off to UK - if we pass all the tests - to visit Sarah and Deborah in London. The trip will last about ten days after which we will be on home SHN for another ten days.

I am pausing to reflect on our last 10 months here. What a blessing it has been! We have felt very loved and welcomed. Though it wasn't easy trying to connect during this time of restrictions, we have been able to use every opportunity to be more acquainted with each other.

We give thanks for...

... the heartfelt conversations when we were able to meet in smaller groups.

... the feedback and sharing of your past experiences. Your love for one another and the church is evident.

... the nuggets or gems of wisdom that often slip through as each of you shares your thoughts.

... the wholehearted support shown in the few initiatives I have taken to lead the church forward, even if in baby steps.

... the farming, walking, cycling and eating together!

... the moments when we were able to visit those of you who are unwell.

... your commitment to excellence as each of you endeavour to give your best to the Lord and His work.

... the quiet feedback when there are perceived gaps in pastoral care.

... the heartfelt support by the staff and Revd Tan Piah and Ps Yin Mei, always willing to step in when there is a need.

.... every PCC member for his/her commitment to good governance and care for the life and ministry of the church

... every opportunity to know you better, your work, course of study or responsibilities at home. Some of you are involved in intense care-giving which is indeed an admirable example of loving dedication.

You will all be richly in our thoughts and prayers during this break. In my absence, Revd Tan Piah and staff will help oversee the ministry of the church.

Stay in His presence and stay safe.
