Preparing for the 5th September Dinner

Do note that the Service will start at 6 pm sharp. You will need to remind yourself and your friends to factor in the time to park your car, find the ballroom, table etc. It will be good to plan to reach Safra by latest 5.30 pm.

As for attire, think about what you normally wear for Services on Sunday and then, bring it a notch up. There is no best dressed award for the evening but you won't want to look sloppy either.

As always with dinner events like this, tabling can be a challenge. Someone did not turn up. And someone unexpected did. Someone prefers not to be seated in a particular table. We have standby one or two reserved tables but let's cooperate to sit everyone down as smoothly as possible. Most tables will have the main host or coordinator to ensure this.

Remember that we want to honer the Lord on this evening. As John the Baptist said, "May He increase and I decrease." The meaningful programme may highlight some people but of course not everyone. Let's focus on the Lord and seek to build up the other. And remember that we do have non-believers in our midst. May they sense the love and reality of Christ that evening.

Self-brought wines are allowed during the dinner but of course, we should all be aware of our limits even if we are not driving. ®

We need to be caring towards seniors in our midst. Being an evening event, if you can help with transport to and fro please do. Some will need to be accompanied.

We have planned a fun and meaningful programme which include videos, performances and speeches (hopefully short ones). Please do your best to help diners at our tables to stop talking amongst themselves and pay attention. Noise generated from diners will also distract others from what is going on at the stage or video wall. This will be especially true for tables that are further back.

We have guests from other parishes and Diocese. Thess include our previous Vicars, clergy and diocesan officials. Please do your part to welcome them and make them feel at home.

Lastly, the planning committee appreciate your prayers. Pray for a wonderful Service and Dinner where the Lord of our Church is glorified. We are reminded that "apart from Him, we can do nothing." May the Spirit carry and help everyone who is serving that evening.
