Equipping Families at Lat Krabang Anglican Church

MPCC received a request to help conduct a parenting course at Lat Krabang Anglican Church. We offered to run Nicky and Sila Lee’s Parenting Course, with the hope of also equipping the church to lead it independently in the years ahead.
Noah and Anne Pillai, who had previously facilitated the course at their former church, brought valuable experience to the sessions. Besides homeschooling their two children, Anne also leads an established counselling ministry in Singapore. Pas Serene Khong also went to support and assist.
The first seminar took place on 22 August, with a follow-up session scheduled for 26 September. Twenty participants attended: five couples, three Sunday School teachers, three childcare teachers, two undergraduates from the English Centre, and two full-time workers. A
The seminar included lively discussions, giving participants space to share their thoughts, questions, and experiences. Parents spoke openly about the joys and challenges of raising children, with some also sharing struggles in their marriages. Those who were not parents contributed actively too, and several shared deeply personal and emotional experiences. These conversations opened up opportunities for personal ministry.
Simple, engaging activities helped bring the lessons to life. In one activity, Anne invited the children to join their parents, creating an opportunity for families to learn together.

The Vicar, Revd Lek, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to MPCC for sending Noah, Anne, and Serene. He shared that the parents, Sunday School teachers, and teachers from Arikan Kindergarten had received encouragement and valuable insights to help them care for their children and students. The church looks forward to welcoming the team back on 26 September.

We thank God for the openness of the participants and the opportunities to serve these families and educators. Please pray that what they have learned will take root in their homes and classrooms, strengthening relationships and nurturing the children in their care.
Pastor Serene Khong will be unable to join the second session as she recovers from an injury to her right foot. Please pray for her healing, and for wisdom, strength, and sensitivity for Noah and Anne as they lead the follow-up session. May God continue to use this partnership to bless families and equip the church for the years ahead.
