50th Anniversary Dinner

Allow me to share more details about the coming Anniversary Dinner.

All past Vicars and Priests in-Charge (Chinese) have been invited as “VIPs”. Not

all can make it. Some will be feature in our history video and we will also be

asking them to join the cake-cutting ceremony. We want to honour those who

have served in MPCC in past seasons. Some other leaders and clergy who are

friends of MPCC will be invited as well.

Some parts of the event will be bi-lingual (English-Mandarin). Even if your guests

can’t understand English at all, we can find other ways for them to follow the

event.

We have planned a creative programme which we trust will be meaningful,

engaging and fun. We want our Lord to be glorified on that evening as we recount

the past and project into the future. It should also be relatable for our friends

and guests.

We will also give an opportunity for all, especially our guests, to contribute

financially to MPCC. An offertory will be collected via scan code and through

other means.

Unfortunately, our Bishop can’t be with us as he is on an overseas engagement.

He will send a message via video. Both Archdeacons will be present including

some retired bishops.

I should reiterate that the heroes of MPCC is each of you! Your presence in this

“one in fifty years” matters! So, be present and be punctual. The service starts

promptly at 6.00 pm at this Saturday event. Plan to come earlier to Safra Toa

Payoh and be seated by 5.45 pm. You may not be familiar on how to get there

and you will need to find your seats. So factor in some extra time. As far as

possible, we have tried to keep the cost of the dinner down. We do have

sponsored seats and tables and we will try to make sure that everyone who

wants to be there can do so. The event is projected to end by 9.30 pm. As always,

members should help one another re transport, especially to assist our seniors.

Do you know of someone who have not signed up yet? Do help to reach out.

We are also anticipating past members to be present. Do reach out and make

them feel at home.

Lastly, do keep this event in prayer. May the Lord be glorified and may the

richness of our communal life be celebrated on that evening.
