The Completed Farming Module
A small team from our MPCC Farming ministry has recently returned from a weekend over at Kep in Cambodia where we were welcomed and hosted by Robert and Weini Davis.
During the course of the weekend, we were able to help their local team construct a new hydroponic farming module which is intended to improve production of green vegetables for distribution to the local community as well as to supply to some local restaurants.
Thebproject was conceived between Robert, Joshua, and Pastor Barry who has visited the Kep community on a number of occasions and was spawned from their knowledge of MPCC’s rooftop farm.
We were also blessed with the opportunity to join Robert and Weini’s home church service on Sunday morning as well as meeting others from the eclectic community living in Kep including Chris who jointly runs the weekly service as well as his own guest house, restaurant and school.

We learned about some of the challenges faced locally including insufficient education, nutrition and employment opportunities for Cambodians, and alcohol problems amongst expats, but we were encouraged to see firsthand the good works being done by the Christian community as they endeavor to improve the situation. We certainly hope that hydroponic farming will be one such initiative which proves beneficial.
